The Robart Victory Pro Medium Ported Grazing Bit has room for the tongue to move when pressure is applied to the shanks. This is preferable for many horses over a low port that applies pressure to the tongue as well, as both the medium and the low port do not interfere with the horses’palate. The reins engage quickly on a grazing bit because the angle of the shanks is bent back toward the rider, shortening the signal or response time. Beginner riders should not use this bit, or really any curb bit, as they are still developing independence with their hands and aids, and will have too much influence with the leverage on this bit. Because of the angle of the shanks, the leverage is softened on a grazing bit. Grazing bits were named such because horses could eat while wearing them, historically preferred by cowboys out on long rides moving cattle. The Robart Victory Pro Medium Ported Grazing Bit has the fancy shanks of the Victory series of bits, with a dark base and stainless steel studs with engraved silver for a sharp look, great for the show ring.
