The Robart Pinchless Weymouth Bit with Ball has the innovative design offered by World Champion rider Dave Robart in his Pinchless series of curb bits. The shape of the Weymouth Bit is arched upward, giving the tongue ample room. Weymouths are used in conjunction with a bradoon snaffle, in a double bridle for refined aids in upper level dressage. The horse must be properly transitioned to the double bridle, but this Weymouth gives arguably more room for the bradoon as well. The ball in the centre of this mouthpiece allows the shanks to work independently of each other, giving the horse more clarity and refinement in the aids, as well as more comfort. Each side of the ball can rotate on its own, pressing down on the same bar as where the rein pressure is applied. The opposing side remains in a neutral position, from the ball down the side of the shank. In tradtional Weymouths, the fixed bit will twist and rotate upwards on the opposing side, causing extra pressure points, potentially pinching, confusion and discomfort for the horse. The simple ball housing the rotating spring loaded system eliminates all of this! This bit applies leverage to the poll, the bars of the mouth, and the chin groove in its action. It is made from high quality stainless steel.
