The Robart Pinchless Twisted 7 Shank Snaffle Bit has two points of rotation that allow this bit to be more comfortable than a fixed bit of the same shape. This is a good bit to transition a horse that is a little dull in the mouth from a snaffle to a curb. The mouthpiece of the Twisted 7 Shank Snaffle Bit in the Robart Pinchless series is made of metal with textured ridges that discourage a horse from leaning and keep him more mindful of any pressure felt on the tongue or bars of the mouth. The design of Dave Robart is creative and intended to prevent any pinching or unnecessary static pressure on the tongue. It consists of the joint being encased in a sleeve that allows rotation of it. That way, the O-Ring that is vertical, will move instead of putting concentrated pressure on the tongue that some horses will find unpleasant and even painful. The second part of rotation is the ability of the mouthpiece to turn on the bit shanks. This again allows more movement and comfort for the horse. The shanks provide leverage at the poll, from the upper attachment of the cheekpieces of the bridle. The reins attach to the lower rings, having a good distance from the mouthpiece to provide leverage on the bars of the mouth.
