The Robart Pinchless High Port Weymouth Bit has a higher, wider port to give ample room for the horses’ tongue and the bradoon bit for a double bridle. Either side of the port rotates, applying pressure with the rein aid, but in no other place. This simplifies the feel for the horse, making them happier. There is a concealed internal spring that allows each side to work independent of the other. When using a rein aid on one side, this system prevents the bit from raising on the opposite side, causing undue pinching and pressure. There are three insets of copper to encourage salivation and make the metal more appealing for the horse to hold, offering a pleasing taste. Increased salivation increases the responsiveness and sensitivity in the horse. The rest of the bit is made from sturdy stainless steel, known for its’ strength and non-corrosive properties. The shanks on the Robart Pinchless High Port Weymouth Bit are long, providing a lot of leverage and control. There are rings for the curb reins at the bottom, and the cheekpieces at the top, with small rings in the middle for a lip strap. The curb chain hangs easily from the upper rings. This bit is one of the two needed to comprise a double bridle, used in advanced dressage. It is designed for maximum comfort and the proper response to pressure by the horse, eliminating the risk of pinching and static pressure by the bit with the internal spring system.
