Ideal for the horse with sensitive skin in the girth area, the E.A. Mattes Dressage Girth Cover provides great protection and cushioning of this sensitive area, with the amazing qualities of genuine sheepskin.

The wool fibres are hollow, and allow excess heat and moisture to move through the individual fibres and away from the horses’skin. It is also a great cushion, and gives wonderful relief to any pressure areas on the girth area. For horses prone to girth galls and sores, or bumps on their skin from heat, this is the best solution available!

Sheepskin secretes natural lanolin through the wool fibres. The lanolin is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and it makes the skin very soft and smooth. These qualities are why it is a common element of hand lotions. Because of the lanolin, the sheepskin will tend to be self-cleaning. It should be air-dried between uses, and can be hand-washed with mild soap, or enzyme-free detergents with no bleach. There are special sheepskin shampoos that are ideal.

Choose from one of two sizes to fit your dressage girth the best. The Dressage Girth Cover by E.A. Mattes is made from the highest grade sheepskin available, and selected for the wool fibre density, resiliency and quality of the hide.
